Columbia College Research
Role: Project Architect.
Columbia College was looking at what its next steps should be with a growing and changing population. They were a small commuter college and now they are a major player in the arts and media colleges. To get to this goal we needed to evaluate their existing infrastructure, survey their current student population and review the surrounding real estate.
During the research phase we surveyed all their properties, interviewed the department heads. We spoke to key stake holders, researched the existing real estate market and surveyed the students. This data helped us determined what the next steps were for the school.
The research provide them with a path which they could start down. It determined that Wabash was the student side of the campus while Michigan Avenue. was the more public face. This lead to a list of projects that the college has started work on which includes the Media Arts Center and the just completed Student Center.
